Sevilla is my all-time favorite city. I studied here for a year and fell completely in love with the culture, food, and people. Here is how I would spend the perfect 24 hours in Sevilla, Spain.
The Perfect Morning in Sevilla
If you are in Sevilla I recommend staying at la Placio y Grata or Casa de Indias by Intur. Although if you are more on a budget the Zenit is the perfect place to stay. As soon as you wake up you should head to Placio y Grata for a delicious breakfast. I would recommend trying some of their tostadas as they are a fun take on the typical Spanish breakfast. If you are looking for more breakfast options check out my guide here.
After breakfast, you should head to Parque Maria Luisa. This is Sevilla’s most beautiful park and you should spend the morning wandering around this stunning park. All seasons in this park are beautiful but if you visit in spring you should keep your eyes peeled because there are lots of baby ducklings. This park leads into Plazza de Espana. Plaza de Espana is one of the most important things to see when you are visiting Sevilla. It is a beautiful building and in the morning it is extra special seeing the sun rise over the structure. The mornings are the most quiet in Plazza de Espana with just a few runners running by and people walking their dogs. There are so many places to sit down and take in the beautiful mix of architecture and nature in Parque Maris Lousia.
After you walk around the park, I would recommend the Alcazar Gardens or the Art Museum. Both of these are great things to see in Sevilla. I would recommend choosing one based on your interests as you can’t go wrong with either. If you are more interested in architecture or gardens the Alcazar Gardens are perfect for you. But if you enjoy art more then go to the Art Museum. Another important thing to keep in mind is that the Alcazar Gardens are huge and you can spend half the day just wandering around here. While the art museum is smaller so depending on how much free time you have one might be better.
Another one of my favorite things to do in the morning in Sevilla is checking out some of the weekly markets, here is my post on a guide to the markets in Sevilla that includes my favorite ones, as well as which days they are.
Lunch in Sevilla
Lunch! You’ll want to make a reservation at Maria Trifulca. This is the perfect place for lunch because it allows you to enjoy the beautiful view of the river while having a light lunch. Reservations on the patio are a must. Don’t forget to finish off your meal with their basque-style cheesecake. After lunch at Maria Trifulca you can head across the street to the Triana Market. This market is a beautiful as well as the perfect place to stock up on some fruit. Living in Sevilla, I came here at least once a week just to admire how good the fruits and veggies look. If you have a chance while you are in Sevilla there is also a place in the market that offers a cooking class. It is so much fun and a great experience to take part in while in Sevilla.
What to do in the Afternoon in Sevilla
Afternoons in Sevilla can be very hot so it is a great opportunity to go shopping and explore the city more. If you are in need of an afternoon snack while exploring the city I recommend the chain, Empanadas Malvòn. Their empanadas are incredible and you can’t go wrong with any flavor. If you have a sweet tooth you should go to Mito Gelato. This gelato shop opened a few years ago and is the best. They make traditional-style gelato with high-quality ingredients.
For dinner, you should go to La Jaula del Papel. This is my all-time favorite restaurant in Sevilla as they take the classic Spanish dishes and jazz them up. They have great outdoor seating. I highly highly recommend the croquetas. If you want some other options for dinner in Sevilla here is my Sevilla restaurant guide. Sitting outside in a typical Spanish Plazza enjoying incredible food is the perfect place to end your perfect 24 hours in Sevilla, Spain.
I hope that you enjoyed reading this and have the best time in Sevilla!
