Cafes:
There are so many amazing cafes in Amsterdam. It was hard to narrow it down to just four but here are my top picks.
Luuk’s is the cutest cafe in Amsterdam. It is filled with nice people and the best energy. Their baked goods are fantastic (especially the cookies). They offer different coffee drinks as well as a selection of juices.
Bocca is a specialty coffee roaster located near some of the best shopping in Amsterdam. All of their coffee is sustainably sourced and delicious. They also offer some coffee classes that I will definitely be doing next time I am in Amsterdam.
Uncommon Amsterdam is a great place to stop before heading to the art museums. Their fresh pastries are fantastic as well as all their breakfast options.
Ikaria Food is a Greek coffee stand. I got the frappe and greek yogurt and both were so good. I would definitely recommend stopping by this place if you want to grab a quick breakfast to go.
Food:
De Kas is a must when you visit Amsterdam. Everything about the restaurant is perfect, from the greenhouse to the fresh flavors. The menu changes constantly and consists of mainly vegetable courses. This was by far my favorite restaurant in Amsterdam and I cannot recommend it enough. Reservations are necessary.
Manamana was another great restaurant I visited. It is a bit outside of the center but the food definitely makes it worth the journey. It is a Mediterranean-style restaurant with sharing plates. This place would be perfect for a large group.
Shopping:
Amsterdam has some incredible shopping. The streets are lined with cute boutiques as well as many fantastic vintage stores. The nine streets are a great shopping area. Some of my favorite curated vintage shops were Laura Dols, and Gimme Glitter Vintage. For a non-curated option, there is Episode, which has many locations throughout the city.
Activities:
Amsterdam is home to some of the most famous museums. The top four would have to be Anne Frank, the Rijksmuseum, the Stedelijk museum, and the Van Gogh museum. You have to get tickets ahead of time to see the museums, as lots of them sell out months in advance. A canal tour is another great activity. As well as taking a stroll in Vondel Park.
