If you are planning a trip to the south of Spain Nerja is a great stop. Nerja is located on Costa Brava, right outside of Malaga, and makes the best 2-day trip. The town is charming and filled with beautiful beaches. I had the best time exploring the coast and eating lots of good food (you can’t miss the Indian food!). There are also lots of great activities such as kayaking, hiking, and exploring caves. Don’t be surprised to see that many of the locals aren’t Spanish! Nerja seems to have an extraordinary amount of people from the UK, but this comes in great handy for tourists because almost everyone speaks English.
I visited during the off-season and it was like I had the whole town to myself. I can’t speak to how busy it is during the summer but my guess is that it can become quickly overcrowded with tourists. Alsa runs a bus route from Malaga to Nerja frequently and it takes a little under an hour and a half. I hope that you have a great time exploring Nerja!
