While living in Siena, I frequently made trips to Florence to shop and try new restaurants. Florence has all of the main luxury stores as well as many other popular stores. These are all great places to go but I thought I would share with you my favorite boutiques as well as vintage shops in Florence.
Concept Stores in Florence
Florence is home to some of my all-time favorite concept stores Bjork and Société Anonyme. Both of these stores have an incredible selection of pieces and are so much fun to browse. My favorite part of these stores is that both of them pay so much attention to sustainability and small brands.
Bjork
Bjork is a small concept store located across the bridge. They carry many small sustainable brands. I have been introduced to so many incredible companies that I didn’t know about through this store. There is a mix of clothing, magazines, and home items. The majority of the clothes there are more natural and laid back with lots of Scandinavian influence. It is the perfect place to shop for some elevated basics and staple pieces.
Société Anonyme
Société Anonyme is a bigger concept store that is a little bit out of the center but worth the trip. They have a great selection of clothes that are street-wear inspired. My favorite though is their own label where they get all of the materials as well as do all of the manufacturing locally. Their pieces are designed so well and made to last. If you are visiting Florence, picking up a piece from their label is the perfect thing to bring home.
Department Stores in Florence
My favorite department stores in Florence are Luisa Via Roma as well as Rinascente. Both of these stores have a variety of brands that carry both men’s and women’s items. They are both located right in the center of Florence.
Lusia Via Roma has a very cool design and carries pieces from mainly large labels. The store itself is beautiful and so fun to walk around. They also have a little restaurant on the top floor which makes a great place to get a drink or a bite to eat.
Rinascente is more of a traditional department store. It is huge and carries everything from perfume to men’s women’s, and children’s clothing. During the summer they also have a great selection of resort and beach wear. My favorite thing about Rinascente is its pop-ups. These are usually on some of the upper floors where they will have an emerging brand come in for a small amount of time. These are also mixed in with some fun vintage pop-ups that are a must to check out.
Vintage Shopping in Florence
Florence has some of the most incredible vintage shops. There are many scattered throughout the city. These are the ones that I would go to the most but I am sure there are some other treasures hidden in the city. When vintage shopping in Florence my #1 tip is to bring cash. Many of the store owners will offer you a better deal or negotiate if you are paying in cash.
Celeste Vintage
Celeste Vintage is located across the bridge and has an incredible selection for fair prices. My boyfriend got the most incredible vintage Gucci coat from here for $150. They mostly carry women’s designs but have some men’s items mixed in. Because it is a little out of the center area I find their selection better than other places with compatible prices in the center.
Humana Vintage
Humana is a chain of second-hand stores. They have a variety of items for low prices, it is definitely more like thrifting than vintage shopping but still is a little curated. My favorite places to look are in the sleepwear because they tend to have many vintage silk nightgowns. I also always go upstairs to the men’s selection to look through the collection of men’s jackets and sweaters. There tend to be some amazingly made sweaters as well as vintage bombers and leather jackets. I would recommend making this one of your first stops in Florence because you never know what you are going to find.
Boutique Nadine
Nadine is a really cute boutique that carries a variety of clothes. My favorite is the back of their store where they have a selection of women’s vintage clothing items. Their prices are high but they have an adorable selection of cashmere and silk pieces.
Epoca Vintage
Epoca has everything that you could think of. Their store is filled with iconic as well as one-of-a-kind vintage pieces. The majority of the store is designer vintage as well as a large selection of Levi’s and other jeans. Due to the store being almost entirely designer vintage, the prices are high but the owner is usually open to bargaining if you are paying in cash.
Other Vintage Shopping in Florence
On both sides of Ponte alla Carraia, there are many vintage shops scattered around. One of my favorites is Recollection by Albrici. I got this incredible vintage dress there and the people working there were so nice. If you have some extra time in Florence I would recommend perusing this area for vintage finds. There are also some great vintage markets in Florence so you should look up what is going on on the days you are there.
